Amending our Legal Documents
We have three legal documents that dictate how we
operate
- Articles of incorporation
- By-Laws
- Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions
These were written back in 1982 and are generic and outdated.
Although they've been amended a few times they are filled with
inaccuracies and ambiguities but getting them re-written so that
everything relevant to our complex is spelled out to the letter will
be expensive and time consuming. Over the years the board of
directors has had to make many judgement calls as to whether
something is the financial responsibility of the homeowner or the
HOA but we hope to address that with a full re-write in the future.
To that end we have setup shared space
here on google drive where everyone can submit their ideas so
that we can begin the process.
